PHS students win $10,000 college scholarships

Two PHS students, Shakeema Jones and Jose Lebron, are among this year’s winners of scholarships from the Jandon Foundation.

The Jandon Scholars Program, administered by the Jandon Foundation and the Westchester County Board of Legislators, awards 15 college scholarships to low-income academic achievers each year.

Based on financial need, academic achievement and service to local communities, each awardee will receive a $10,000 scholarship over their four years in college, as well as a laptop. The program is unique, in that it follows the students throughout their college career.
