School board members seek reelection

Incumbent school board members Joe Urbanowicz and Doug Glickert are running for reelection for their seats on the School Board.

Both of their three-year terms expire this year. Both were elected for the first time to the school board in 2008. Petitions for all candidates who wish to appear on the ballot for the two seats up for election are due into the School Clerk’s office on Wednesday, April 27 by 5 p.m.

In the past month, the School Board has appointed a new superintendent, Jim Willis, and has passed a $72 million budget for the 2011-12 school year with a 3% property tax increase.

Voters will decide on the board’s proposed budget and select two board members when they vote on May 17.
