
Arrests in Peekskill, Aug. 10 through Aug. 13, 2011

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 10
11:45 p.m. David Malvert, 20, of Spring Valley was arrested at the Mt. Kisco Police Department and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a Class D felony. Malvert is accused of attempting to cash a forged check at the Hudson Valley Bank in the Beach Shopping Center on August 10. A subsequent investigation by Det. Marcos Martinez lead to Malvert’s arrest at the Mt. Kisco Police Department after Malvett’s girlfriend was arrested for committing a similar offense in Mt. Kisco. Malvert had appeared at the Mt. Kisco PD to bail her out and was recognized from bank surveillance video as being the individual who attempted to cash the forged check in Peekskill. Malvert was arraigned in Peekskill City Court on August 11 and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla.
THURSDAY, August 11
8:35 a.m. Gary Dunlap, 19, of Peekskill was arrested on the 900 block of Main Street and charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony. Detectives closed out their investigation into the August 2 break-in of a gas station on Highland Avenue with the arrest of the second suspect Dunlap. His accomplice, Justin Rice, who was arrested last week, and Dunlap are accused of breaking into the convenience store portion of the gas station. Dunlap was arraigned in Peekskill City Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla. Det. Ralph D’Aliso made the arrest.
THURSDAY, August 11
9 p.m. Gloria Ford, 28, of Peekskill was arrested on the 1000 block of Park Street and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a Class D felony. Ford is accused of stealing a credit card belonging to her mother and using it to withdraw $300 from a bank ATM on August 4. Ford was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Officer John Kolesar made the arrest.
SATURDAY, August 13
4:15 p.m. Isaac Bruff, 23, of Peekskill was arrested on the 500 block of Washington Street and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor. Bruff was stopped for a vehicle and traffic offense on Washington St. and discovered to be in possession of over 25 grams of marijuana and a scale. In addition, Bruff was found to be in possession of $1,870.00 which was seized for possible forfeiture as it is believed to be proceeds from the sale of marijuana. Bruff was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Officer Matt Basso made the arrest.
