Arrests in Peekskill, Aug. 5 through Aug. 9, 2011

FRIDAY, August 5

6:20 p.m. Justin Rice, 20, of Peekskill was arrested at 2 Nelson Ave. and charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony. Rice was charged with the burglary of a gas station located on Highland Ave. He is accused of kicking in the glass door of the convenience store portion of the station during the late night hours of August 1. Rice was charged following an investigation that linked him to the incident. He was held without bail after his arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Det. Todd Gallaher made the arrest.

MONDAY, August 8

The El Gran Latino Bar at 306 Highland Ave was charged with maintaining a disorderly premise, a violation of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law, after officers conducting a tavern inspection encountered numerous intoxicated individuals inside and outside of said establishment who were creating a disturbance. A representative of the corporation is due to appear in Peekskill City Court on Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. to answer these charges. A referral was also made to the New York State Liquor Authority. Officer Jack Galusha was the investigating officer.

TUESDAY, August 9

1:50 a.m. Derrick Scott, 35, of Peekskill was arrested at the Stuhr Garden Apartments and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a Class A misdemeanor. Scott was charged after he was observed operating the vehicle of an individual who has an order of protection against him in the vicinity of her  residence. Scott was additionally charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, after it was discovered his license had been suspended. Scott was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Officer Mary Greenan made the arrest.
