Arrests in Peekskill, July 21 through July 25, 2011

THURSDAY, July 21

12:50 a.m. Joseph Fasce, 43, of Mamaroneck was arrested at the CVS Pharmacy at the Beach Shopping Center and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a Class D felony. Fasce was charged following an investigation into his attempt to obtain oxycodone, a prescription narcotic, with a forged prescription. The prescription pad was obtained from a doctor at Dobbs Ferry Community Hospital and the investigation is continuing into how he came into possession of it. Fasce was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail. Officer Doug LaPerche made the arrest.

SUNDAY, July 24

4 a.m. Oseas Duarte, 26, of Crompond, NY was arrested on the 1700 block of Crompond Road and charged with aggravated DWI, a Class A misdemeanor. Duarte was charged following a motor vehicle accident after it was determined he was operating under the influence of alcohol. A subsequent breath test revealed he had a blood alcohol content of .19%, elevating the charge to Aggravated DWI. Duarte was released on his own recognizance and is due in Peekskill City Court on August 8. Officer Anthony Nappi made the arrest.

MONDAY, July 25

12:30 p.m. Robert Smythe, 44, of Peekskill was arrested on the 1000 block of Park Street and charged third-degree criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both Class B felonies. Smythe, who was wanted on outstanding drug charges stemming from last month’s sweep in Peekskill, was observed on Park Street and taken into custody without incident. He is charged with the sale of xanax (prescription narcotic), to an undercover police officer. He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail following his arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Officer Chris Vazeos made the arrest.
