Arrests in Peekskill, July 5 through July 9, 2011

TUESDAY, July 5

6:05 p.m. Alexander Lazos, 29, of Cortlandt Manor was arrested on Welcher Avenue and charged with DWAI-drugs, a Class A misdemeanor. Lazos was charged following a two-car accident that occurred in the parking lot of the Mobil Gas Station on Welcher Avenue. Investigating officers determined that Lazos was under the influence of prescription medication which impaired his ability to drive and was subsequently taken into custody. He was released after posting $500.00 bail and is due in Peekskill City Court on July 25. Officer C. Woodland made the arrest.

FRIDAY, July 8

9:45 a.m. Kenneth Jackson, 59, of Peekskill was arrested at 750 Washington St. and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a Class A misdemeanor. Jackson was charged after violating the stay away provision of an order of protection that was issued on behalf of a family member. Jackson was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail. Officer Doug LaPerche made the arrest.

FRIDAY, July 8

10:25 a.m. Rakein Moore, 29, of Cortlandt Manor was arrested on Campus Road and charged with third-degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor. Moore was arrested after assaulting a female acquaintance on July 3 by punching her in the face and causing injury. Moore was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Officer Scott McDonough made the arrest.

SATURDAY, July 9

3:30 a.m. Ledell Ellis, 36, of Peekskill was arrested at 807 Main St. and charged with several offenses. Ellis was charged with criminal trespass, a Class B misdemeanor, at the Bohlman Towers Housing Complex after he was observed operating a vehicle in the parking lot and had been previously banned from the property. He was additionally charged with third-degree unauthorized operation of an automobile, a misdemeanor after it was learned that his license had been suspended, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor, after he was found with a quantity of PCP on his person. Ellis was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail. Officer John Marchioni made the arrest.
