Arrests in Peekskill, June 28 through July 5, 2011

TUESDAY, June 28

7:50 a.m. Julio Morales, 37, of Garrison was arrested in the James Street Parking Garage and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. Morales was observed sleeping in the stairwell of the parking garage by Officer Steve Zappolo who, upon further investigation, found him to be in possession of a small baggie of cocaine. Morales was taken into custody and held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.

TUESDAY, June 28

6:55 p.m. Dajuan Shealy, 26, of Tarrytown was arrested on the 900 block of Main Street and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. Shealy was observed acting irrationally and disorderly by officers and found to be under the influence and in possession of PCP. He was taken into custody and held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.

WEDNESDAY, June 29

7:30 p.m. Edward Reeves, 69, of Peekskill was arrested at Police Headquarters and charged with third-degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor. Reeves was charged following a dispute with a female acquaintance whom he struck in the face causing her minor injuries. Reeves was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Officer C. Woodland made the arrest.

THURSDAY, June 30

5:20 p.m. John Kingsley, 22, of Peekskill was arrested on the 900 block of Garfield Avenue and charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a Class B felony. Kingsley, who was wanted for the sale of cocaine as part of last month’s drug sweep by city, county and state police, was arrested after being observed on Garfield Avenue. He was held for arraignment in Westchester County Court. Officer Joe McGann made the arrest.

TUESDAY, July 5

3:20 a.m. Peter Davenport, 33, of Cortlandt Manor was arrested on Route 9 at Main Street and charged with DWI. Davenport was charged following a single car accident after it was determined he was operating under the influence of alcohol. Davenport’s blood alcohol content was .12%. In addition, Davenport was issued a summons for texting while driving after it was learned that he had been texting on a cellular telephone just prior to the accident. Davenport was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Peekskill City Court on July 7. Officer Sue Bielomyza made the arrest.
