
Arrests in Peekskill, June 14 through June 19, 2011
TUESDAY, June 14
4:15 p.m. Jo Capobianco, 46, of Mahopac was arrested on the Bear Mountain Parkway and Carhart Avenue and charged with DWI, a Class A misdemeanor. Ms. Capobianco was charged following an auto accident on the Bear Mountain Parkway in which she passed a steady red light and struck a second vehicle. Both Capobianco and the operator of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. Capobianco is suspected of operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol as she failed several field sobriety tests. A blood test to determine her blood alcohol content was obtained. Capobianco was released on her own recognizance and is due in Peekskill City Court on June 27.
WEDNESDAY, June 15
9:25 p.m. Henry Melendez, 47, of Peekskill was arrested on the 800 block of Washington Street and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. Melendez was observed by officers operating a bicycle after dark without proper reflective gear and subsequently stopped. After a brief investigation, Melendez was found to be in possession of two baggies of powder cocaine and subsequently arrested. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Officers John White and Mike Lawrence made the arrest.
THURSDAY, June 16
3:15 a.m. Jack Rice, 23, of Peekskill was arrested on the 700 block of Nelson Avenue and charged with DWI, a Class A misdemeanor. Rice was charged following an auto accident on the 700 block of Nelson Avenue where he struck two parked vehicles. Rice failed several field sobriety tests and submitted to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content. He was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in Peekskill City Court on June 27. Officer John Marchioni made the arrest.
FRIDAY, June 17
7:55 p.m. James Paccione, 54, of Lake Peekskill was arrested on the Bear Mountain Parkway and Carhart Avnue and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Paccione was stopped for running a stop sign on Carhart and Westchester avenues and found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and crack cocaine. He was released after posting $300 bail and is due in Peekskill City Court on June 27. Officer Mike Lawrence made the arrest.
SUNDAY, June 19
11:05 p.m. Manuel Amendano Quintuna, 51, of Peekskill was arrested on the 1200 block of Lincoln Terrace and charged with DWI and leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident, both Class A misdemeanors, and unlicensed operation, a violation. Amendano-Quintuna was charged following an auto accident in which he crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a vehicle carrying three people, all of whom sustained minor injuries. Amendano-Quintuna fled the scene but was located by responding patrol officers on the 1700 block of Lincoln Terrace and taken into custody. A test of his blood alcohol content showed it to be .12% and he was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court. Officer Julian Hermosillo made the arrest.
