Gerald A. "Jerry" Traver, Jr. of Peekskill, NY passed away on August 28, 2011. He was 64 years old. He was born in Beacon on January 20, 1947 to Gerald A and Muriel A. Post Traver, Sr.
A baker by trade, Jerry owned Jerry's Donut Shop on Welcher Ave., Peekskill. He later worked at the A & P in Yorktown in the Bakery Department. Jerry served in the US Marine Corps. during the Vietnam Era, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service and Vietnam Campaign Medal with Presidential Unit Citation. On August 25, 1985 he married Virginia "Gina" Scivoletto.
He is survived by his wife Virginia "Gina" Traver of Peekskill, three daughters; Paula Traver of Peekskill, Stephanie Traver of Peekskill and Christine Traver of Woodbourne, NY and a granddaughter, Megan. Also surviving are a brother and sister, James Traver and Cindy Mapstone of Virginia. Predeceased by a brother, John Traver.
Visiting hours are today, Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, 10am Assumption Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
