UPDATE Parade, fireworks mark the Fourth of July in Peekskill

The annual Fourth of July parade, a Peekskill institution, returned this year after being missed last year and put on a patriotic display that stretched from Highland Avenue to the Riverfront Green.

The bands, fire trucks, "Uncle Sam," a float with Abe Lincoln, and dozens of marching units and trucks from local firefigher and EMS units paraded before onlookers and supporters who lined the local streets with applause.

The day ended with the traditional fireworks show at the Riverfront Green, proceeded by a food and a concert.

The entire patriotic celebration was presented through the dedicated members of the Peekskill Fire Department, and who raised the funds and organized all the activities.

Here's a link to the sights and sounds of the fireworks show at Riverfront Green.
